FRENCH LANGUAGE COURSES THROUGH PLURILINGUAL APPROACHES FOR CHILDREN AGED 6-12
It’s my pleasure to announce that the research team Pluralités and the Department of Linguistics & Didactics of the School of French Language and Literature, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, are still offering for the academic year 2018-19 a language awareness program for primary school children aged 6-12.
This program is implemented in the framework of the cooperation of the School of French Language and Literature with the School FLE/S (Français Langue Etrangère et Seconde) – French as a foreign or second language of the University Aix-Marseille.
The program will be implemented from 15th October 2018 to 30th June 2019 and it aims at learning the French language on A1 and A2 levels. Each course lasts for 2 hours per week and it will be offered in the neoclassical building of the faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University, by Mrs Marine Celas, who has completed her postgraduate studies in the University of Toulouse and is an expert on teaching French to children.
At the same time, the presence of a postgraduate or a PhD student, member of the research team Pluralités, will facilitate, especially in the first lessons, the communication between the kids and the teacher as well as the resolution of any practical issues that may arise and could hinder the educational process.
The aim of the program is to familiarize the kids with the French language both in the written and in the spoken form. The teaching courses by a native speaker will offer the kids the opportunity to acquire more easily and fast the French accent. The language teaching will be accompanied by a cultural approach so as the students will acquire knowledge of the subjects concerning the contemporary French everyday life and culture.
Courses will follow innovative didactic approaches, which are suitable for kids and which make good use of modern technology.
The participation in the program is free. A small fee of 10 euros for 8 teaching hours (a month) will be asked in order to cover part of the running expenses.
